2002 Kia Spectra Alternator Belt. A typical rule of thumb for the right tightness is able to twist the belt with a finger and thumb a 1/2 turn. I have a kia spectra 2003 i had the alternator.
My husband just put on the new timing belt, and has been trying to see if it will fire up without hooking up the alternator first. Kia > 2002 > spectra > 1.8l l4 > belt drive > belt. When he installed the alternator, he did not mount it correctly and when he put the old belt back on (which i suggested he replace at the time) there was some squealing with the belt.
